We have been a hot hot mess around here! Early Friday morning it started snowing! It snowed, and snowed, and snowed. It snowed all the way to Saturday afternoon! By 9:00 a.m. Friday we had 8″. We measured 14″ Saturday when it finally stopped snowing. I have never seen that much snow, or that type of snow, dry and fluffy!
School was out Friday, Monday, Tuesday for Ella Kate (Addison had a 1 hr delay), and EK had a two hour delay Wednesday and today, Addison an hour each day. This morning we thought we were going to get to go at normal time but my phone lit up and there it was, 2 hr delay. So since they did that, I got the text from Addison’s with her delay. They have to delay because the big kids have to go first.
So I haven’t had much free time because I have been busy keeping the girls entertained. Michael worked over 65 hours last week, maybe more he thinks!
I kept telling family and friends that I wanted a big snow, well we got it! There is still snow all over the place! I am not sure if I wanted this much snow…but either way, it was record breaking. Mt. Mitchell had 66″ of snow! The BRP is still shut down. People can ski it etc.
The girls absolutely freaking loved it. Back in October, I was at Target and noticed a whole aisle with snow equipment and toys. I bought the girls both a hot pink saucer type sled. Best $5 I ever did spend! We went out twice Friday, three times Saturday, and maybe once Sunday. Everything was cancelled. We sled down the back of our backyard hill and then moved over to a gigantic mound of dirt that the builder made that week…huge mound! It was so much fun! We made snow angels. I attempted to make a snowman, but the snow was so dry and fluffy I couldn’t get it to form a ball. Michael came home and flat out made an igloo in our driveway (great idea at the time, just wrong location).
Anyway on to the pictures!
Here is Michael’s doing…this was his property!
Before we destroyed the hill!
The big big hill! It was quite a hill to climb in 14″ of snow!
Moonpie had the best ideas!
According to Ella Kate, I make the world’s best hot chocolate!
As seen on her face!
